Who are we?
Creative Support is a not-for- profit provider of person-centred services, supporting people to enjoy their lives and reach their full potential since 1991. We provide services for people with a wide range of support needs, which are individualised, person centred and deliver valued outcomes.
Creative Support has been running services in Liverpool since 2010. We now have 13 services in Liverpool comprising of:
- Supported living services of various support levels
- Homeless prevention floating support
- A café situated on London Road which is a mental health and learning disability safe space
What we offer?
The Liverpool Light has been set up to provide preventative crisis support to clients with mental health needs. Around 29% of people in Liverpool experience long term depression, learning problems, mental health related issues and nervous disorders – that is over 140,000 people in the Liverpool region (LCC compendium).
The service enables self-care resilience in lieu of admission to A&E departments, providing a specialised service outside of GP and day service hours. Our main focus is on reducing potential hospital admissions and ensuring clients have a safe and secure environment. This will enable de-escalation, intervention and preventative support.
Our space
The Liverpool Light is an out-of-hours mental health crisis service, open from 6pm – 1am, 7 days a week. It has been set up to provide a safe place for people experiencing a mental health crisis to come and begin their recovery.
This space will alleviate the demand on A&E departments and offer a more suitable environment to de-escalate and recuperate.
We will also be able to refer into our partner organisations if there are any other issues such as debt, risk of homelessness, benefits and welfare advice, domestic violence refuge, refugee support services, and substance misuse services.
Based in the heart of the city situated on London Road – and within close proximity of RLUH and local police stations – our service will be delivered from our already existing Liverpool Interlinks base.
